Animals Kritter Kamp Accepts
Ayn Van Dyke accepts most animals native to Pennsylvania, although she not licensed to accept birds.
If you found a bird that may need help:If you find a baby bird that is uninjured, the best thing to do is place it back into the nest if possible. Most birds have no sense of smell and will not notice it has been handled by a human.
If the bird seems injured or you cannot find a nest in the immediate area: Contact: Pennsylvania Wildlife Center 412-793-6900 Make a makeshift nest with a small basket or food container. Line with easter grass or dryer lint and cover with a paper towel or toilet paper, then nestle the baby on top of the nest. Place the makeshift nest on a hot water bottle or heating pad on a low setting to keep the bird warm. Also keep the bird in a quiet area. Contact a rehabber ASAP. |
